Hon. Erica Thomas

Erica Thomas is an author, speaker, mentor, and Georgia State Representative of district 39.Erica currently resides in Mabelton, GA with her daughter Dakota.

She first gained experience with the General Assembly serving as Legislative Aide to the previous representative from House District 39. She is the 5th youngest State Representative in America. The first orphan ever elected to office. Outside of Capitol life, Representative Thomas runs Speak Out Loud, a local nonprofit founded by Representative Thomas, dedicated to giving a voice to foster children who have been silenced by their circumstances. Speak Out Loud has expanded across the country and has chapters in Nigeria. She has also worked to establish libraries in various locations in Africa, which earned her the 2013 Ambassador for Peace Award from the Global Peace Foundation. Thomas has also been awarded the 100 Black Men of America’s Image award, Who’s Who of Atlanta Most Influential and the National Action Network Action and Authority award. Additionally, she is the co-founder of Young Professionals of Cobb County. She is currently in Flight school to become a pilot She is now working to build an orphanage in Dibette Village, Botswana. Erica has traveled all over Africa helping orphans for this is her life’s work.
